Afloat

As a part of the Broken Frontier ‘Six UK Small Press Creators to Watch 2015‘, I created a 10-page comic entitled Afloat (2015), which was released in April 2016, with accompanying signing at Gosh! Comics in London

Afloat is a short story based on poverty, loneliness and imagination and the unlikely friendship that comes from a boy and his origami crane. The story is dedicated to my late-uncle who passed away whilst I was working on the project.

… It’s followed by Rozi Hathaway’s Afloat, a strikingly beautiful wordless tale of a child’s loneliness and imagination. Her art is terrific here, with wide panels working to place the child in small and large spaces, but always alone, with stunning colouring, sombre except for the sea and the sky.”

The Yearbook also includes work from Emma Raby, Adam Vian, Danny Noble, Alice Urbino, Jess Milton, amongst others.

You can read my comic for free by following this link.

Copies of the Yearbook are still available from the Broken Frontier store.
